Miami Real Estate... A World All Its Own

The Royal Poincianas Are In Rare Bloom

In all my many years in Coconut Grove I’ve never seen the poinciana trees bloom so prolifically and with so much deep color. I think it has to do with the extreme cold we had this winter, and I’ve heard the drought contributed to their remarkable intensity, but whatever has caused it has made Miami incredibly colorful this spring!

As I’ve been driving around I’ve marvelled at some of the Royal Poincianas I’ve seen, and I have to share this one with you that I saw in Belle Meade with a client the other day.

Really Royal Poinciana!

There is a painterly quality about this photograph when you see it enlarged, and it reminds me of the work of one of our great local landscape artists, Federico Carosio III.

Another impressive one I found is in on SW 23 Street near SW 22 Avenue in Shenandoah.

I am keeping an eye on a yellow poinciana in the Roads, and when it’s in full bloom I’ll post a picture of it!
