Miami Real Estate... A World All Its Own

South Miami

South Miami is known as the City of Pleasant Living with good reason. It sits just south and west of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables and shares the lush leafy canopy of trees and historic neighborhoods. On the south it is bordered by Pinecrest’s many large estates.

Established in 1927, South Miami is one of the county’s oldest  municipalities. The poet, Robert Frost, made his home here, as have other luminaries. Today it is home to a permanent tri-ethnic population of approximately 10,500 people. Its vibrant downtown is just east of US 1 and is filled with historic buildings housing restaurants, great shopping, and entertainment venues. It is also home to 2 major hospitals providing employment and services to people from all over Miami-Dade County.
